The 10 Commandments of Bathroom Remodeling Success

10 Commandments of Bathroom Remodeling Success to Save Time, Money, and Get a Stylish Bathroom | Innovate Building Solutions | #BathroomRemodeling #ShowerTips #BathroomTransformation

You’ve decided to venture out into the harsh-cruel world of bathroom remodeling. You’re no longer willing to be a slave to an outdated, unsafe and flat-out ugly shower, tub, vanity, toilet – you name it. You desire the promised land of a Pinterest and Houzz-inspired bathroom. A space which is relaxing, well-light, safe for your family, with plenty of storage. This bathroom won’t have you on your hands and knees praying for a savior to liberate your hand from your scrub brush.

Making the decision to remodel is easy. Planning and doing the job -whether you hire a ‘professional contractor’ (you may debate if there is such a thing) or rolling up your sleeves and doing it yourself – is another thing.

You need guidance and support.

At times you need a savior to bail your butt out. Ouch!

How can you move from the vision of a beautiful spa-inspired bathroom, minimize the trials and tribulations of the construction process and be ‘saved’ from the nastiness which is your current space?

You could go into the Mojave Desert looking for a stone tablet with words of bathroom remodeling wisdom. I doubt you’ll find anything useful. You will locate funky lizards, cougars and tasty prickly pears (if you haven’t tried this fruit, you should – but I digress). Bathroom remodeling inspiration will be in short supply.

A better strategy – crank up your electronic tablet and put into practice the 10 Commandments of bathroom remodeling success below. Will they save you from all trials and tribulations along the way? I doubt it. They will get you a more inspired bathroom with less hassle along the way. Your friends and family may exalt you and your bathroom transformation – and even want to check out your ‘throne’ (I’m getting too flowery here). Let’s check out the 10 Commandments.

Open Design Bath Remodel in Cleveland Inspired by San Diego Hotel

Written by Mike Foti on . Posted in Bathroom Remodeling

Open design bathroom remodel in Cleveland Ohio It’s easy to see how a beachfront hotel in San Diego California can be inspirational to a couple from Cleveland Ohio – sand, sunlight and warm temperatures can be a welcoming environment for someone from Northeastern Ohio. While Robin and Pat Baranack (a couple from the Cleveland suburb of North Royalton) were inspired by the outdoor experience on their west coast trip – they were equally as impressed by the inside of their hotel bathroom which featured a clean, contemporary and open design. As Pat said, “When we got back from our San Diego trip my 3’ x 3’ phone booth sized shower felt even smaller, our single sink vanity more limiting and our 1980’s style soaking tub in our master bathroom seemed even less functional than before.”Before image of Cleveland remodeling project

The time had come to take the inspiration from the La Jolla California hotel and reinvigorate and remodel their North Royalton master bathroom to capture this sunny West Coast feeling and functionality. In the article below I’ll look at how Pat and Robin (along with the design and construction team of Cleveland Design and Remodeling) used a combination of thoughtful product selections and hidden construction features to create a master bathroom which is built to not only endure the test of time, but is exciting to use on a daily basis as well (it is so fun you can see “Lucy” the family dog smiling about it from ear to ear in the picture above!).

Personalizing a Cottage Style Bathroom in South Euclid Ohio

Cottage style bathroom remodel in cleveland ohio

If you’re looking to remodel your bathroom would you prefer to work with a contractor who tells you, “Lady – this is how we’re going to fix your bathroom” or one who asks, “Ma’am – how can we help you make this space fit your personality, style and needs?” Such was the choice facing Catherine Lee of South Euclid Ohio when she decided – for the first time – to contract out a remodeling project (all her previous projects she did on a DIY basis with her husband).

Catherine was looking to not only remodel – but transform – her 1919 main bathroom. This space had a beautiful vintage oversized cast iron tub and her goal was to create an artistically fun and relaxing space with the feel of a seaside cottage (despite being in Northeastern Ohio!).

Learn below how Catherine along with the design (Jeff Merrell) and construction (John Fronek) leaders of the Cleveland Design and Remodeling division of Innovate Building Solutions were able to deliver on her vision at a budget she could afford.
